Claire Whitlock opened Larkwood in a room above the bakery with one listing, a farmhouse outside Red Hook that took eleven months to sell. Most of what the agency does now was learned on that house.
We are still small on purpose. Each of us covers one town and lives in it, and each of us handles a few houses at a time, so a seller always knows who will pick up the phone.
We sell around forty houses a year, from village cottages to farms of a hundred acres, and we turn down the ones we could not price honestly.

Each agent lives in the town they cover and knows its roads, its schools and its contractors.
