Kinderhook

A village green, old Dutch houses and farmland that runs north toward Albany.

Kinderhook

Kinderhook is the quietest of our three towns: a green with a church and a general store, a few streets of eighteenth-century houses, and farmland on every side.

Buyers come here for space and for the light over the fields. Barns, farmhouses and the occasional new house built into the woods make up most of what we sell.

The village

The green, a bookshop, a café and a hardware store that still cuts keys. A summer concert series runs on the green on Thursday evenings.

Getting there

Hudson's train station is twenty minutes south. Albany is thirty minutes north, with its airport and its trains to Montreal.

Schools

Ichabod Crane Central School District, on one campus a short drive from the village.
